Solar Water Heaters (SWH) is a system that uses solar thermal collectors to convert and capture the heat from the sun to generate renewable resource such as such solar energy to heat water for domestic and industrial purposes. The idea of SWH has being originated way before 100 years but its usage at a larger scale took off from about the last 20 years wherein advanced technologies have been developed on concepts like absorber coatings on solar collectors, which has a capability to convert more than 50% of the available sunlight for heating water for any purpose. One of the popular devices that harness the solar energy is solar hot water system (SHWS). With the depletion of the non-renewable resources, SWH is now becoming a mature technology. Wide spread utilization of SWH can reduce a significant portion of the conventional energy being used for heating water in homes, factories and other commercial and institutional establishments.
